Application to the principal requesting him to equip the Student’s Common Room
(name of the college)
Sub: Proper equipment of the Common Room
We, the students of your institution, beg to inform vou that our Common Room, as it exists now, is not at all well-equipped. When ve represented the matter to you a few days back, you assured us that you would look into the matter and take necessary steps as soon as possible. You also advised us to let you know our needs in detail.
In this connection, we have to say that our Common Room should be a place for rest and recreation in its truest sense. Many of our students are fond of table tennis. But we do not have the necessary facilities. Of course, we have a carrom board but it is rather old and worn-out. It should be replaced by a new one. Some students are interested in chess. We think we should have few sets of chess for our indoor games. Moreover, we regret to say that the only Bengali daily subscribed for the Common Room is quite inadequate for our needs. In addition to that, there should be at least one English daily and some Arts, Science, Commerce journals in our magazine-desk.
We hope that you would be gracious enough to meet the minimum needs as stated above for our Common Room at your earliest convenience.
