Letter from the landlord to a tenant to increase rent
You have been living at the premises of ……….. as a tenant for the last six years. You had agreed to increase the rent by 10 percent every three years to keep up with the increased maintenance costs—particularly in terms of municipal taxes, etc., and it is a part of the terms specified in the mutual agreement form. But it is a matter of great regret that you have not kept to the terms of your agreement!
As you know only too well, prices of all things have risen and in such a situation I cannot but request you to agree to an increase of rent by 10 percent w.e.f……………….(date).
I hope you will pay the increased rent from this month and the arrear dues in three installments. I believe you will comply with my request. Otherwise, I shall be compelled to take other reasonable steps.
