Fiction is a feigned or a false story; the truth is factual. Fiction refers to the realm of romance or imagination; truth can be experimented with. Fiction is exotic and strange; the truth is familiar. Ironically, however, it is sometimes reverse—the truth is sometimes stranger than fiction. We know science is doing some wonders which we could not imagine in our fiction. The computer is such a truth that is now going beyond fiction. Not only that, in our day-to-day life we sometimes see such an event that a fiction-writer will hesitate to follow. Off and on we come across such amazing headlines in the newspapers or TV channels that takes our breath. A baby was found safe and sound after a plane crash causing all other passengers spot death. An old man of ninety could be rescued alive after ten days from the debris of a collapsed building. An old beggar, always dressed in tattered clothes, died and after his death, it was found that he had possessed and kept thousands of rupees in his worn-out pillow. These are not the figments of fiction; they are real-life. occurrences. And then why should we not say-truth is stranger than fiction?
