It is an old controversy whether man is stronger than his destiny. Some people believe that a man can achieve success if his destiny permits. Others think that man himself carves out his destiny. There is an element of truth in both the beliefs. There are the factors in heredity and environment—how one is born and brought up. Yet it is the fact that we can make our life happy or the reverse by our own activities. A man has in him all those fundamental qualities which are required for achieving greatness, and it depends on him whether he will develop them or not. God is never partial in distributing gifts among men. It is sometimes seen that we fail to attain success in spite of strenuous and repeated efforts. But in most cases, a close scrutiny will reveal that we have committed some mistakes. There may be a few exceptions. But the general rule is in favour of iron will and strong determination. Those who fail in everything owing to their own negligence and idleness blame their fate.
