We live in an age of science. We feel the influence of science at every moment. Science has made its way in almost every sphere of life It has made our life easy and comfortable. Indeed, modern civilization is based on the gifts of science. Wherever we cast our eyes, we see the achievements of science — industry, commerce, communication, medicine, and whatnot. We take the advantage of science from dawn tonight. Yet there are some abuses of science. Science has not only invented a robot but has turned a man into a robot in some cases Charlie Chaplin said in The Great Dictator’: “In this age of scientific inventions we think too much, we feel too little.” It snatches the soul of a man when he runs into a race in mad pursuit of material prosperity. But science cannot be blamed for this. We can use fire for cooking our food or burning others’ houses. It is not the fault of fire, but its users. Likewise, man is responsible for the abuses of science. It fully depends on us whether we shall have the science to destroy our creation, or to conquer hunger, poverty, and disease for a happy and prosperous world.
