Letter Appointing An Employee In Response To Advertisement

Write a letter to a person, in response to a newspaper advertisement given by the same, appointing him an employee.

Dear Mr. Oberoi,
With reference to your advertisement in 'Situations Wanted' column of The Statesman, dated 6.8.03, I wish to offer you the position of a general clerk in the Production Department of our company.

The commencing salary will be Rs. 25000 per month, and this is subject to review annually by the directors. Increments may be granted subject to satisfactory reports on your work by the head of your department.

The hours of duty will be from 10.00 a.m. to 6.00 p.m. from Monday to Saturday. You will not normally be required to work on Sundays. You will be entitled to two weeks, holding each year, but there are arrangements for increasing this after one year service. The appointment can be terminated by one month's notice on either side.

Would you kindly confirm immediately that you accept this appointment and that you will report to Mr. D. K. Mitra in the Production Department at 10.30 a.m. on Monday next.
